1. Who is eligible to play for DBLL?
• Boys and girls, league ages 4-16, who attend a school on our Schools list or reside within our geographic boundary are eligible to play.
2. Do you make any exceptions for players outside your boundaries?
• Yes, we are currently accepting players outside our boundaries if Little League has granted approval of a boundary waiver.
3. What seasons do you play?
• We always have a Spring Season, with practices beginning in March and games beginning in early April and running through the end of May/early June.
• We also typically have a Fall Season for baseball and softball (no t-ball).
4. What divisions do you have?
• T-ball (co-ed), league age 4-6
• Minors Division Baseball (boys coach pitch), league age 6-8
• Minors Division Softball (girls coach pitch), league age 6-8
• Majors Division Baseball (boys kid pitch), league age 9-12
• Majors Division Softball (girls kid pitch), league age 9-12
• Junior/Senior Division Baseball (co-ed kid pitch), league age 12-16
5. What division should I register my child for?
• League age 4 and 5 players must play tee-ball.
• League age 6 players who are first-time players must play tee-ball.
• League age 6 players who have played at least one season of tee-ball may register for Minors Division play.
• League age 7 and 8 players must play Minors Division.
• League age 9 players must register for Majors Division and attend an evaluation session. During evaluations, managers may recommend a league age 9 player play in Minors Division.
• League age 10-12 must register for Majors Division.
• League age 12 players who also want to play Junior Division may also register for Juniors Division at no additional cost.
• League age 13-16 must play Junior/Senior Division.
6. Are your managers/coaches paid?
• No. DBLL has no paid employees. The majority of DBLL activities are volunteer-based (including Board of Directors, Managers, Coaches, concessions, etc.). We do pay contractors for a few services such as grounds maintenance and umpiring.
7. What are your sources of funding?
• We have three primary sources of income: registration fees, team sponsorships, and fundraisers.
8. What are your annual expenses?
• Uniforms (shirt, hat, belt, socks) for each player (shirts/hats for all coaches)
• Baseballs/softballs/t-balls, scorebooks, umpire uniforms/equipment
• Grounds maintenance – mowing and weed-eating
• Field supplies – weed killer, chalk, bases, rakes, gasoline, chalkers, chain drags
• Equipment/facilities maintenance – lawn tractors, doors, locks, restrooms, paint
• Utilities – water, electric
• Insurance
